Room Integrity Testing

A room integrity test is a critical and legally required procedure to verify the proper performance of a gaseous fire suppression system. While these systems are designed to release a concentration of gas sufficient to extinguish a fire, they do not significantly lower the temperature at the fire’s source. As a result, it is vital that the protected enclosure is adequately sealed to maintain the necessary gas concentration for a sustained period following discharge, reducing the risk of re-ignition.

Integrity testing assesses the room’s ability to retain the extinguishing agent at effective levels. This test must be conducted during the system’s initial commissioning and repeated annually as part of the ongoing maintenance program to ensure continued compliance and system reliability.
